Kesher K'vutzot (groups)

Yahadut (Judaica)

The Yahadut groups at Kesher represent parts of a growing tree:
Shorashim (roots) - K and 1st graders

Nitzanim (buds) - 2nd and 3rd graders

Anafim (branches) - 4th and 5th graders

Te'enim (figs) - 6th and 7th graders

In coming years, Kesher will expand to include 8th graders.

Ivrit (Hebrew)

Students are placed in Hebrew groups by proficiency level. The levels are named according to the letters in the Hebrew aleph-bet - Kitah Aleph, Kitah Bet, etc., all the way through Kitah Zayin!
Kitah Aleph - first year of Ivrit, mostly new kindergarteners and first graders, general exposure to Ivrit and to the letters

Kitah Bet - second year of Ivrit, review of letters and introduction to vowels and decoding

Kitah Gimel - lots of practice decoding, increased vocabulary, introduction to reading and writing in script

Kitah Dalet - move from singular tense to plural, more practice with all skills

Kitah Hey and Vav - move from present tense into past tense

Kitah Zayin - getting more comfortable with using both present and past tenses, introduction to future tense
