Dan Brosgol
Dan Brosgol is the Executive Director of Kesher. A native of Belmont, Dan has worked at a number of Jewish institutions over the years, most recently at The Rashi School, where he was the Jewish Programs Coordinator, and Hebrew College, where he was the Associate Director of Prozdor. An avid runner and Boston sports fan, Dan lives in Bedford with his wife, Elizabeth, two sons, James (6) and Oren (4), and daughter, Asalie (1). Dan has a BA in Politics from Brandeis University, an MA in Jewish Education from Hebrew College, and is pursuing an EdD at Northeastern University and Hebrew College.
Sarah del Castillo Benhaim
Sarah del Castillo Benhaim is Kesher's Hebrew Coordinator, one of the Nitzanim teachers, and also teaches Kitah Bet in Ivrit. Sarah has been at Kesher Newton for four years. She hails from San Diego, attended UC Santa Cruz, receiving a BA in Philosophy and Religious Thought, completed her Master's Degree in Jewish Studies at Hebrew College, and has a wealth of experience in working with Jewish children in various educational settings.
Liz Corman Shiro
This is Liz Corman Shiro's sixth year teaching at Kesher Newton. Liz is a co-teacher in the Shorashim room, teaches Kitah Aleph in Ivrit, and serves as our Family Educator. She received her Masters in Jewish Education and her Certification in Family Education from Hebrew College in 2007. She is a DeLeT alum and loves teaching at Kesher. Liz has her Elementary Certification from Massachusetts to teach K-6th grade. She has worked in a variety of Jewish communities including Temple Beth Elohim, Temple Tifereth Israel (Malden), and The Rashi School. She lives in Sharon with her husband, Lee, and two cats.
Yael Rubinstein
Yael Rubinstein is a cellist and native of Israel. She has a bachelor's degree from Tel Aviv University and master's degree from Mannes College of Music in New York. She arrived in Boston three years ago for graduate diploma studies at the New England Conservatory. This is Yael's second year at Kesher Newton, and she is working as one of our Nitznim teachers, as well as teaching Kitah Gimel in Ivrit.
Rena Gray Fein
This is Rena’s first year at Kesher Newton, where she is happy to be teaching Anafim and Kitah Hey. Rena has been engaged with Jewish life and learning in the Boston area her whole life. At Kesher, she draws on her experiences as an educator in a variety of venues, including Jewish supplementary school, day school, family camp, and special education. She has also created a variety of curricula for Jewish families. A graduate of Prozdor and Brandeis University (in Judaic Studies), Rena is a candidate for Masters Degrees in both Jewish Education and Jewish Studies and Hebrew College.
Beth Daskin
This is Beth's third (non-consecutive) year at Kesher. She is glad to be back teaching Kitah Dalet and co-teaching Shorashim. Beth just completed a Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Simmons College and is ceritified in Massachusetts to teach grades one through six. Beth lives in Brighton with her husband, Daniel.
Pam Pistiner
Pam Pistiner has always been an active participant in the Jewish communtiy. After graduating college, she spent close to a year in Israel on Project Otzma, a leadership fellowship which focuses on community service. Upon her return to New York, Pam completed her Master's degree in Secondary English Education, and taught in both high school and middle school. Pam has also taught in Hebrew schools for the past nine years. Pam loves the flexibilty that teaching, especially in a Hebrew school environment, has given her in order to spend more time with her sons, Scott (6) and Benny (4). Pam will be teaching the Te'enim (grades 6 and 7) and Kitah Zayin in Ivrit.
Liad Carmel-Ulitsky
Liad Carmel-Ulitsky is a native of Israel visiting the US for a few years with her family. She has a bachelor's degree in Biology and Computer Science from the Bar Ilan University. In the past two years she worked as a graphics designer in Tel Aviv. Liad arrived in Boston three months ago and this is her first year at Kesher. Liad teaches Kitah Vav in Ivrit and Anafim.
